Suinami Lagos — Event Recap
A one-minute recap of Suinami Lagos, a big community meet-up for people building on Sui, so everyone who missed it can feel what the day was like.
THE BRIEF
Suinami Lagos was a community event for Sui, a blockchain network, organised for its Nigerian community (SuiNG). Hundreds of developers, creators and curious newcomers came together at HighPoint in Lagos for talks, games, sponsor booths and networking.
The team needed a short recap video for social media: something that would show how big and lively the day was, thank the people and sponsors who came, and make others want to attend the next one. It had to feel fun and real, not like an advert, and stay under about a minute.
THE APPROACH
I opened with a drone shot of the venue and the Suinami Lagos logo, so you know straight away where you are. Then the edit moves through the day the way a guest would experience it: arriving and checking in, walking past the sponsor booths, signing the big message wall, playing games, and finding a seat in a full hall.
I mixed wide shots of the crowd with close-ups of people laughing, reacting and dancing, so it feels both big and personal. Short moments from the talks and a sit-down interview in front of the event backdrop show that there was real substance too. The cuts follow the music, getting faster as the day turns into a party, and the video ends where it started, with a drone shot pulling away from the venue.
I kept a soft, warm colour grade across all the footage so clips from different cameras feel like one film, with the Suinami Lagos logo small in the corner throughout.
THE RESULT
A lively recap the community could post right after the event. It shows the size of the turnout, gives the sponsors visibility, and gives people who missed it a real reason to come next time.

✦ Director's note
“A recap should feel like you were there. So I let people's faces and reactions tell the story, and kept the talking to a minimum.”
